Yifei Sun, MD, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon at Prairie Cardiovascular – Decatur and O’Fallon, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the circulatory system.

Dr. Sun completed his vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he gained extensive experience in both traditional and minimally invasive vascular procedures. Prior to his vascular surgery fellowship, Dr. Sun completed his general surgery residency at Saint Louis University. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.

An active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), Dr. Sun has presented his research at multiple SVS annual meetings. His presentations have focused on carotid artery bypass, thoracic endovascular surgery and abdominal aortic aneurysm screenings.

His clinical expertise includes treating peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, dialysis access creation and venous disorders. Dr. Sun is committed to providing comprehensive vascular care using the latest surgical techniques and technologies to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

At Prairie Cardiovascular, Dr. Sun works closely with other cardiovascular specialists to develop personalized treatment plans for patients with complex vascular conditions. He brings a patient-centered approach to the practice, emphasizing preventive care and long-term vascular health.
