Summit S. Pandat, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care rooted in respect, compassion and a commitment to excellence. He believes in building strong relationships with his patients, always prioritizing their best interests and personal preferences in care. He looks forward to partnering with patients on their journey to better heart health.
Dr. Pandat completed his clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center in Houston, where he developed advanced expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds certification in adult echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography.
Throughout his training and career, Dr. Pandat has gained extensive experience in a wide range of electrophysiology procedures, including diagnostic studies, catheter-based arrhythmia mapping and ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and advanced therapies such as coronary venous ethanol ablation. He is passionate about the unique complexity and diagnostic challenges within electrophysiology and is committed to improving both the quality and quantity of life for his patients.
Dr. Pandat has contributed to the field through research and publication, with multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national scientific meetings, including the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology. His dedication to excellence has been recognized with several honors, including serving as chief fellow during his cardiovascular disease fellowship and receiving awards for exceptional service and academic achievement. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society and Cardiac Electrophysiology Society.
Originally from Arkansas, Dr. Pandat is excited to join and support the southern Illinois and St. Louis metro area communities. He is proud of his Indian heritage and looks forward to becoming an active member of the local community. Outside of medicine, Dr. Pandat cherishes time with his wife and family, often exploring new restaurants, hiking spots or traveling. He also enjoys playing board games, video games and pickleball.
