About Silvan Omerovic
About The Provider
Dr. Silvan Omerovic is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in treating heart disease and provides comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each patient's unique needs. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from Michigan State University, followed by a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at McLaren Greater Lansing in Michigan, where he gained extensive clinical experience managing a wide range of medical conditions.
Following his residency, Dr. Omerovic remained at McLaren Greater Lansing to complete a general cardiology fellowship, further developing his expertise in cardiovascular medicine, diagnostic testing and patient management. He then advanced his skills through an interventional cardiology fellowship at East Carolina University, where he received intensive training in advanced cardiac interventions and procedures.
Dr. Omerovic brings significant experience in performing coronary stenting, high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), rotational and laser atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy (IVL), Impella-supported PCI and mechanical pulmonary thrombectomy. In addition to his procedural skills, he
manages chronic cardiac conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation and valvular heart disease. He is passionate about patient education and empowerment, ensuring each individual feels informed, comfortable and actively involved in their care. He believes in building lasting, trust-based relationships and works closely with patients to meet their health goals.
Dr. Omerovic chose interventional cardiology because it allows him to make an immediate, meaningful impact on his patients' health, often helping them feel better quickly. For him, the specialty is both rewarding and inspiring.
Originally from Bosnia, Dr. Omerovic immigrated to the United States with his family in the late 1990s and is looking forward to beginning a new chapter in Springfield with his fiancée. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, snowboarding in the winter and relaxing on the beach in the summer. He actively participates in community outreach, focusing on events that raise awareness about coronary disease and preventive care.
