About Shelly L Baldwin
About The Provider
Shelly L. Baldwin, APRN, is an advanced practice registered nurse who is passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families. With more than 25 years of nursing experience, Baldwin specializes in family practice and wound, ostomy and continence care, supporting patients through every stage of life and health. Growing up, she witnessed firsthand the impact cardiovascular disease can have on individuals and their families, which gave her a greater appreciation for heart health and inspired her to pursue this profession.
Baldwin’s care philosophy centers on treating each person as a unique individual and building strong, positive relationships. She takes time to listen, collaborates with patients to meet their health goals and empowers them with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed decisions. She believes that even small gestures—like taking extra time to listen or share a laugh—can have a meaningful impact on a patient’s life. Her approach is rooted in kindness, respect and partnership, and she is dedicated to making a positive difference for her patients and their families every day.
Baldwin earned her family nurse practitioner credentials from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois, and holds a Master of Science in nursing with a focus on education from Walden University in Baltimore. She is also a certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse. Throughout her career, Baldwin has cared for patients in home health, hospitals and the Department of Veterans Affairs, managing acute and chronic conditions, providing preventive care and supporting those with complex wounds and chronic diseases. Baldwin has been recognized for her leadership and dedication, including nominations for the NLN Mary Adelaide Nutting Award for Outstanding Teaching or Leadership in Nursing Education and honors as a Top 10 Nurse by The Heart of Health Care. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the National League for Nursing and the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Society.
Dedicated to giving back, Baldwin tries to stay active in community service and regularly donates blood and participates in local influenza vaccination clinics and food drives. In her personal life, she enjoys reading, gardening, exercising, golfing and traveling with friends and family. She and her husband have an adult son and daughter, along with their beloved fur babies — a cat and two dogs. Baldwin is proud to serve her community and looks forward to partnering with her patients on their journey to better health.
