Dr. Scott Marrus, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist known for his expertise in non-invasive cardiology and his dedication to patient care. With a strong background in transthoracic echocardiography, Dr. Marrus has consistently demonstrated his commitment to improving patient outcomes through comprehensive and compassionate care.
In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Marrus has ongoing research collaborations with Eko Health and Verily. These projects leverage Prairie’s clinical expertise to develop novel wearable devices and apply AI to support new diagnostic tools.
He obtained his Ph.D. in neuroscience and M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Marrus's post-doctoral research focused on cardiac electrophysiology from the level of ion channel function to novel techniques for imaging the electrical function of the human heart. He remains interested in the potential of emerging technologies to contribute to cardiovascular care.
A recipient of numerous awards, including the Rising Star Award for Cardiovascular Research, Dr. Marrus is a member of several professional societies, such as the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. His contributions to the field are also reflected in his extensive list of publications and his active participation in advancing medical knowledge through research and mentorship.
