About The Provider

Dr. Salem Badr, MD, FACC, is an interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart disease and complex coronary interventions. He formerly served as the director of the Structural Heart Program at Marshall Health and an assistant professor of medicine (cardiology) at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Dr. Badr is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular care through innovative procedures, education and research.

With extensive training in interventional and structural cardiology, Dr. Badr completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., followed by a cardiology fellowship and structural heart fellowship at Advocate Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Wisconsin. His expertise includes transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and minimally invasive structural heart procedures. Before joining Marshall Health, he practiced as an interventional cardiologist at Ascension Health Care in Wisconsin.

Board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, internal medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Badr brings extensive clinical experience and research contributions to the field. His work focuses on TAVR outcomes, coronary artery disease interventions and the safety of percutaneous coronary procedures in high-risk populations. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, including studies on transradial PCI, long-term safety of drug-eluting stents and the impact of ethnicity on acute coronary syndrome outcomes.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Dr. Badr continues to lead advancements in minimally invasive cardiac treatments while mentoring the next generation of cardiologists. His commitment to patient care and research ensures that cutting-edge cardiovascular therapies remain accessible and effective.
