Richard R. DiLorenzo, DO, is a board-certified gastroenterologist dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care to patients with more than 25 years of experience. He is committed to patient-centered care and clinical excellence. Dr. DiLorenzo completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Botsford General in Farmington Hills, Mich., after earning his doctor of osteopathy from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency and internship at Chicago Osteopathic in Chicago.
Throughout his career, Dr. DiLorenzo has served patients in a variety of settings for nearly two decades across Illinois, Missouri, Arizona and Colorado. He an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. DiLorenzo’s patient care philosophy centers on building trust and open communication with every individual he treats. He believes that effective care begins with listening—taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns, symptoms and goals—ensuring that patients feel heard and respected throughout their care journey. Known for explaining diagnoses and treatment options in clear, accessible language, patients praise Dr. DiLorenzo for his approachable bedside manner and willingness to answer questions in detail. His dedication to individualized care has earned him the trust and gratitude of many in the community.
Dr. DiLorenzo is experienced in advanced procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), enteral stenting and endoscopic cricopharyngeal myotomy. He is recognized for achieving above-average adenoma detection rates and has completed additional training in hepatology and inflammatory bowel disease. He believes in working closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that fit their unique needs and lifestyles.
Outside of medicine, Dr. DiLorenzo enjoys hiking, high-altitude backpacking, glider piloting and exploring the outdoors, especially as a friend of Rocky Mountain National Park. He welcomes new patients and looks forward to providing high-quality gastroenterology care to the community.
