Micheal S. Young, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon dedicated to providing skilled, compassionate care to patients throughout central Illinois. With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Young is committed to helping patients feel comfortable and confident at every stage of their care. He specializes in general surgery, breast surgery, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, colonoscopy and wound management, and believes in listening to his patients, answering their questions and working together to create the best possible treatment plan.

Dr. Young earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City and completed his general surgery residency at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, Wayne State University in Detroit. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Young is proud to serve the community with patient outreach and education. He enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, reading and staying active through cycling and hiking. He is an avid dog lover and loves football.
