As a cardiologist specializing in electrophysiology, Dr. Michael Barkett’s focus covers all disciplines of cardiovascular medicine from imaging to intervention. He was drawn to electrophysiology as the technological advancements in this field are second to none, providing novel tools for the best possible outcomes for patients. He has special interests in arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation/flutters, supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and novel electrophysiologic devices, such as leadless pacemakers. He enjoys working with his patients and relishes the opportunity to truly participate in providing each patient with a cure that translates into a concrete lifestyle improvement.

His Mediterranean heritage and his family have instilled in him compassion, sacrifice and the desire to genuinely help people. These traits constitute the backbone of who he is as a person and as a dedicated physician. Personally, Dr. Barkett enjoys outdoors activities and spending quality time with family and friends.
