Bonnie Coburn, DNP, APRN, FNP, is a board-certified family medicine provider with more than 20 years of experience in nursing and advanced practice. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University, her Master of Science in nursing and family nurse practitioner certification from Illinois State University, and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing and holds ANCC certification.

Coburn has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including urgent care, walk-in clinics and emergency departments. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she traveled to New York City to work at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, caring for patients on an ICU stepdown unit. She has also volunteered to administer COVID-19 vaccines, performed school lice checks and supports Feeding Our Kids in Champaign to help decrease food insecurity among children. Community involvement is central to her approach, and she regularly volunteers at local health initiatives and educational programs, believing in the importance of supporting the well-being of her community.

Coburn enjoys the broad scope of family medicine, finding it rewarding to care for patients at every stage of life. She values shared decision-making and strives to meet patients where they are, offering flexibility and understanding in every interaction. Her medical interests include GLP-1 medications and staying current with advances in patient care.

Outside of medicine, Coburn enjoys gardening, hiking and spending time with her grandchildren. She works part time on an organic flower farm, supports the small farming community and is learning to manage bee hives. She and her husband have a blended family of seven children, all now grown. She treasures family time and the joy of grandchildren and credits her family experiences with helping her better understand the many levels of the patient experience.
